   Certificate Course on Shipping Law and Practice

CERTIFICATE COURSE ON SHIPPING LAW AND PRACTICE

The Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice (ICLP), in collaboration with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), has scheduled the commencement of the second program of the ICLP-CCC Certificate Course on Shipping Law & Practice Course for 12th February 2012.

Sri Lanka is on its way of becoming a Maritime hub for South Asia. The Sri Lankan shipping industry has the capacity to expand and grow into a major international hub facilitating global trade and transportation. Thus, implementation of mega infrastructure projects such as harbour in Trincomalee, Oluwil, Hambantota will definitely make Sri Lanka, Asia’s new Naval Center.

With this rapid growth comes the need of enhancing the knowledge on shipping law and practice, which is hardly given any importance in any training program. Therefore, building interest and knowledge on the legal and practical aspects in the shipping industry is of vital importance to enhance the capacity and skills of the interested personnel in Shipping Industry.

Hence the afore mentioned training program would create an extra mile of the respective careers of the participants and would definitely advance the competence of the profession.

 

ICLP- CCC Certificate Course on Shipping Law and Practice

The Institute for the Development of Commercial Law & Practice in collaboration with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has scheduled to commence a Certificate Course on Shipping Law and Practice with the objective of building interest and knowledge on the legal and practical aspects of the shipping industry to enhance the capacity and skills of the personnel in the industry.

Admission Requirements:
Attorneys-at-Law, Medium Level and senior Employees in Shipping, Freight Forwarding, Imports and Exports are encouraged to apply

Course Structure:
Maritime Law, Carriage of Goods by Sea, Admiralty Law, International Trade, Port Operations, Marine Insurance, Custom Formalities etc

Duration: 3-4 Months, on Sundays from 9.00 am to 1.15 pm at ICLP Arbitration Centre, 61, Carmel Road, Colombo 3

Course Fee: Rs. 45,000/- payable in three installments.
